The auditions were due Monday at 11:59pm EST. I was giving everyone a little leeway to enter stuff in late slash at the last minute, but it looks like we're not gonna have enough people to have an actual tournament.
So here's what we're gonna do.

Secondly, I apologize, but
Battle of the Bands is now indefinitely postponed. If any of the people who did auditions feel they need to be reimbursed for the time and effort that went into this, please contact *
ginchael and we can work something out.
Again, I apologize for this, and hope that we'll be able to pick up Battle of the Bands in the future.

EVEN MORE OF AN EDIT: Here's some inspiration for y'all of the types of things we'll be looking for.
[link] - I Want You (She's So Heavy), from the film Across the Universe. Julie Taymor reintreprets the lyrics of this famous song so they're a critique of the American military and imperialism.
[link] - All These Things That I've Done, from the film Southland Tales. Hot girls and beer is fine too. But this is one that you can really easily see how to storyboard.
[link] - Slice Me Up by Clawjob. This is an example of how you would do a comic. To see how it fits with the music, look at this

Welcome to the Battle of the Bands, an Original Character Tournament that is powered by ROCK. Here's the lowdown:
- You enter a musician: a band, a solo act, a monkey that plays the harmonica, a self aware iPod, whatever. Any genre of music or type of musician is welcome.
- You and your rival band are given a song.
- You guys each make a music video (via comic, flash, or whatever) using the lyrics of the song and featuring your opponent's band in whatever role you want.
- The most creative or plain awesome entry moves on.
- Eventually, the biggest, baddest, rockinest band will win a record deal.
AND ITS THAT EASY.
"So why should I join this awesome sounding OCT?" you may ask. WELL, friend, let me tell you that we're just not your average OCT. In fact, we're a little different from your run of the mill fight-random-people affair.
- You don't actually have to fight. That's right. Violence is always acceptable, of course, but the main focus here is how you interpret and handle the lyrics. CREATIVITY IS KEY.
- Stories are optional. Now we're not going to stop you if you want to make your rounds a crazy Pink Floyd The Wall continuous story (hell that would be pretty sweet), but if you just choose to do a series of unrelated music videos it ain't gonna hurt you judging wise.
- This is going to be as stress free as possible. Need that extension? Ask for it. Don't want to worry about the finer points of your character's psyche? It's cool, save that shit for another tournament. This is all about having fun and listening to some awesome music.
- The music will be awesome. I think so, anyway.
- Who doesn't like Guitar Hero? Seriously, what are you, a communist?

I thought you would enjoy reading it, since they're also playing a song through the comic.
